CHARLESTON, SC.  (Feb. 9, 2015) – With 20 courses available and a climate that invites year-round play, the Charleston area is always a popular golf destination, regardless of the season. So much so that, at its international convention in Como, Italy, last October, the International Association of Golf Tour Operators (IAGTO) named Charleston North America’s “Golf Destination of the Year.”

But this winter, traveling golfers have even more reasons to plan a golf get-away to the South Carolina Lowcountry.

Two special golf events, as well as special seasonal “stay and play” packages, are being offered by various resort, golf course and accommodation partners of Charleston Golf Inc., the marketing cooperative that represents hospitality industry professionals throughout the area. Coupling premier accommodations with memorable and challenging courses, these four packages are perfect for those seeking an early 2015 escape, amateur tournament play or even an unforgettable round with a noted chef from Charleston’s award-winning culinary community.
