HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. – Jansen Smith of San Angelo, Texas, and Siyan Chen of Howey in the Hills, Florida, are the respective boys’ and girls’ champions of the Sea Pines Junior Heritage, after rain wiped out the final round at Harbour Town Golf Links.
Smith shot 2-under 69 in the only round that counted—Saturday’s opening 18—to win the boys’ title by three strokes over Grayson Wotnosky of Wake Forest, N.C.
In the girls’ division, Chen also shot 69 for a six-shot margin over runners-up Auston Kim of St. Augustine, Florida, and Katharina Hesse of Germany.
The annual event is conducted by the South Carolina Junior Golf Association and the Sea Pines Resort.
