Not there was ever any question, but Tiger Woods has submitted his entry for the 2018 U.S. Open at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club.

Not that there was ever a doubt, but…

Tiger Woods filed an entry for the 118th U.S. Open Championship, which will be contested at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club, in Southampton, N.Y., June 14-17, 2018, the USGA announced Thursday.

Woods, who won the U.S. Open in 2000, 2002 and 2008 and was a runner-up twice, has not played in the championship since 2015 at Chambers Bay, in University Place, Wash.

Woods, a nine-time USGA champion who has won 14 major professional titles, has competed in 19 U.S. Opens, including twice (1995, 2004) at Shinnecock Hills. He played in his first U.S. Open in 1995 but had to withdraw in the second round due to an injury. Woods tied for 17th in 2004.
